Matagarup Bridge is a pedestrian bridge over the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia, connecting East Perth with the Perth Stadium and Sports Precinct on the Burswood Peninsula.

Finding the Matagarup Bridge.

The Matagarup Bridge is a suspension bridge situated approximately half-way between Heirisson Island and the Goongoongup Bridge. Matagarup Bridge Burswood entrance is between the Crown Casino and the Optus Stadium next to the Swan River.

About the Matagarup Bridge

The Matagarup bridge stretches 400m from bank-to-bank across the Swan River. It has a width of at least 9m, and a steel cable-stay span of 160m at the centre.

The bridge has a centre structural arch, an apex rising 65m above the river. It features two piers driven into the river bed to reduce the impact on the river, as well on two piers on either shore. It has a 40m-wide vessel navigational area with a clearance of 8m between the water and the bridge deck.

The bridge provides pedestrian access between Burswood and East Perth. It has the capacity to serve up to 14,000 people during match and event days.

The design also includes two landscape pause points and decorative lighting across the bridge.
